Undertaking a journey by foot to a holy place has been a form of sacred practice for hundreds, if not thousands of years. The essence of a pilgrimage is seeded in your intention, unfolding in to a unique dialogue with the natural world, reflecting back the Truth of who you are.
Moving through a landscape as you carry a prayer, question or intention, your outer journey is mirrored within, creating movement, insight and healing. Whether you are at a crossroads in your life, marking the end of a significant chapter, experiencing grief, seeking healing or connection, a pilgrimage offers a held and embodied way to meet yourself fully and receive the blessings of healing and wisdom from the natural world.
As we walk the earth intentionally, ceremonially, we are able to connect to the earth more deeply, appreciating each step as a moment of intimacy with her, a conversation with the earth. As we walk a pilgrimage, we are, in a sense, walking ourselves home.
If you would like to be guided on a pilgrimage and have a route curated for you and your friends, family, or colleagues, I would love to help. Over the years I have been walking the lands of Somerset, Devon, Dorset, Sussex and Surrey with some frequency and know many a magical grove, spring and ancient landscape, and am always willing to discover more!
If you would like to plan a pilgrimage yourself, I heartfully recommend The British Pilgrimage Trust, who have created an amazing database of pilgrimage routes in the UK.
A seasonal pilgrimage in Somerset to mark the Celtic festivals of the Wheel of the Year.
With each journey we will be walking with the intention to create balance within the Web of Life, weaving water with earth, silence & song, ritual with seeds & our dreams within the
landscape, as we carry water as a prayer for Life.
"Thank you for leading us strong and soft as a shepherdess. It was a healing, simple, gentle day of deep remembrance. I saw the essence of what can be when we quietly walk with water. I felt us connected in the silent part of our walk - with each other, with the land, with the water; and I felt that little could matter more at this time of chaos and change. We sang with trees, and carried water, and made simple rituals, and even though it was only a few hours it seemed we had been on such a journey!" Sophie
'Thank you for this unforgettable day. You taught us in a perfect way to get connected to our mother Earth, our inner soul and our ancestors.
The pilgrimage was so wonderfully prepared, that we only had to leave our daily lives behind and listen to your wisdom. The sacred places you choose, the magic well, the holy oak.. every moment supported us to come more into balance.
This Equinox-Pilgrimage made me perfectly prepared for the shorter days and longer nights to come.' Monika
